My wifes meal was excellent. Everything was absolutely great. However my fillet was suposed to be medium. When i got it. The steak was so well done the waiter had to get extra sauce to dipp the meat in. Manager offered to order fresh steak but had already filled up on the one i had. Manager told me she was checking on why my fillet was so badly cooked and would be right back. NO ONE ever came back to the table. Except to bring check. I will never go back. Very poor management. Thank you. Larry Crossman. Atlantic city NJ
I bought my wife a masterclass experience for her birthday which meant that she would be grafting in the kitchen all morning and I would saunter in just in time for lunch demanding to be wined and dined. I wasnt aware that the restaurant doesn't open over the weekend so the only customers were the 'trainee chefs' and their guests. My wife said that she had the most fantastic time in the kitchen and that Matt and his team could not have been more helpful and friendly - she was quite nervous beforehand as she isnt, by her own admission, the most accomplished cook in the world but it didnt make a difference and she was immediately put at ease. When I arrived, i was greeted with a glass of champagne and shown to a table. This is my only slight criticism of the entire event... if it wasnt for one of the other guests beckoning me over to her table, I and the subsequent arriving guests could have been sat in a rather isolated, awkward silence until being seated for lunch but possibly fuelled by one or more glasses of champagne, my new best friend set the tone for what turned out to be a superb afternoon When the chefs arrived, they joined us for a well earned glass of bubbly and they all commented how hot it was in the kitchen and how much they'd enjoyed watching and participating in the preparation and cooking of the food. There were two tables of six in the entire restaurant and in turn, each was invited into the kitchen to watch the participants plate up each course - there was no issue with us taking in cameras and snapping away and it was obvious that in the limited time everyone had spent together, there was a great rapport between the entire team (professionals and not quite professionals). It's pointless me going into too much detail about the food as it has been well covered by other reviews and despite my wife's best endeavours, it was unsurprisingly, excellent. Each course was accompanied by a delicious wine and our glasses were attentively replenished which was much appreciated. At no time did we feel as though were being rushed, the front of house team made us feel very comfortable and it was a very leisurely lunch indeed. My wife said that it was one of the best experiences of her life and she would thoroughly recommend it - from my perspective, it was a great occasion in a very relaxed atmosphere eating superb food and drinking lovely wine with delightful company - what more could I ask for?
Wanted to go on previous trips to London. Finally made it. Well worth the wait. Only one word to describe it Excellent! Not crazy about a lot of food in London but this is top of the line and we have eaten in restaurants all over the world. If you can get a reservation don't miss it. A must. Great place Gordon!
